Razor Candi

last days of the florida vacation.

On the last few days in Florida I went wig shopping, visited Stephen and had his mothers amazing Shepherds Pie, saw a few bands play at The Brass Mug, and went bowling. Traveling back with all the luggage was very exhausting to say the least, but I happy to be settled in Romania with all my stuff :D

dang. i can’t imagine the cost for all that luggage, probably more than your tickets!!

also… i just happened to be watching ‘the f word’ (gordon ramsay chef show on BBC america in case you don’t know) right this minute on which they are making ‘cottage pie.’ he argued with some lady on there because apparently shepherd’s pie is made with lamb, if it is made with beef it is cottage pie. i wasn’t aware of that personally. i was wondering if what you had was made with lamb or beef.

Yay for having a lot of luggage to bring with you! it’ll be a hell for me too in september, i’m moving in edinburgh for 11 months and i have to bring only one luggage with me >.<

Awww nice pics!

question:

The wigs what you buy are 100% human hair? or 50% humar hair and 50% synthetic? :P or 100% synthetic?

Ps: You look ^_^ beautiful with white/blond hair!

Wow. I love the light pink wig on you! :P

Random question (sort of): What kind of paint brushes do you use for your paintings?
I’m curious because I have a set of brushes, but they’re very rough and hard to clean. =/

I’m hearing AC/DC’s “Big Balls” in my head when I see the bowling pics. LOL

Hehe, shepherd’s pie is absolutely delicious! I used to hate it when I was a kid but it was the first thing out of my mouth when my dad asked what I wanted for dinner on my birthday. Soooooooo good. =3

Well, luckily I didn’t have to pay for extra luggage, I thought about it because I still had to leave things behind but it was like $200 extra dollars or something to ship another piece of luggage. Flying over seas we get 2 pieces of 50 pound luggage a piece so when we flew to the states we put suitcases inside bigger suitcases and just flew with two pieces (since you can’t fly with empty luggage) when we got there we filled up all four suitcases and Atti took 2 and I took two as well as two carry on’s so we managed to get a good deal back with us without having to pay any extra ;)

Sounds interesting, guess I had cottage pie because ours was made with beef, never had it made with lamb ;)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:19 am | Permalink

yeah, but man was it a pain in the ass! Luckily they fly it from Tampa to Budapest, we don’t have to stop at customs and shit on our way into Europe so we didn’t have to worry about lugging it around once we dropped it off in Tampa, which we had help then so it was a piece if cake. Now getting it all from Budapest to the bus heading back to Romania was monstrous, since it was only the two of us we had to try and lug it out of the Budapest airport, into the cab, from the cab to the bus station and the when the bus arrived take it from the bus station to the bus then once we arrived to the Romanian bus station the luggage goes from the bus into the cab then finally out of the cab when we arrived home to our flat… even more exciting we are on the top floor!! So at 4am when we arrived home after our 30 some hour trip we had to haul 4 heavy ass bags up 4 stories lol.

Sucks that you only get to bring one bag for 11 months, but sometimes it’s much less of a headache to pack light ;) especially because it will be just you transporting it.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:21 am | Permalink

Thanks :) Yeah that wig was so cute but it wasn’t the pale shade of baby pink I was looking for and I didn’t want to spend $50 on it if it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, it was hard giving it up though because we visited 3 other wig shops that day and I didn’t find any other pink wigs :( the white one however was what I was looking for and I now own it :D

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:23 am | Permalink

Thanks :) I didn’t buy it :( It wasn’t the right shade I was looking for. I was looking for something paler like the other pink wig I have, I did get the white one though :D It will look a lot better once I style it ;)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:24 am | Permalink

Haha yeah really, I seriously lost it when Attila showed me that lighter :))

Yeah her hair is cute, a little too neon for my taste but she pulls it off :)

wigs are the shiz!

Re: <33

Thanks :) aw don’t feel stupid, a lot of people don’t know that Eden and I are sisters (identical twins!). Indeed a lot of luggage and I still had to leave lots of stuff behind :(

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:29 am | Permalink

Re: Whoa!

:)) indeed it is!! and what a royal pain in the ass it was, but worth it because yes, I have most of the clothes, costumes, wigs and SHOES! I had to make a selection of the most important stuff, still had to leave some things behind, but I have most of the stuff I REALLY wanted :) You can imagine I was shitting bricks during the transport hoping they won’t lose all my things, even though it would be pretty cool to get money for the lost things and go on a shopping spree there is still a lot of stuff that can not be replaced.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:34 am | Permalink

Hahah omg! I hate those kind of things myself!

Yeah i think i’ll bring only one as i’ll go there alone and i’ll have to take a bus to the city centre and i basically don’t know where it is my apartament from the bus stop. Plus i’ll have a college room and i basically don’t know how big it is and such, so i won’t bring with me many things. But i’ll have something shipped to me for sure, like things i don’t need immediately there. I was thinking of bringing with me only some clothes and then buy there everything. There are some cheap shops like H&m right near my house haah! What scares me is that i’ll have to use my laptop for a year wich is really old and photoshop goes on it..i don’t know how haha!
I must become friend of someone with a good pc or a mac there ahahah!

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:35 am | Permalink

Thanks :) It is pretty amazing that I made it through another year :))

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:36 am | Permalink

I am from Tampa/Brandon. I didn’t make it out to Orlando at all during my trip, only to go to Kennedy Space Center ;)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:39 am | Permalink

lol you think? She is my identical twin sister so that’s a relief :))

Ah Shepard’s Pie is the best! It is ground beef and corn topped with mashed potatoes and lots of cheddar cheese, that’s how Stephens mom makes it anyway and it’s amazing!

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:41 am | Permalink

Yeah it sucked :)) especially once we finally arrived to Romania with it all and had to lug it up 4 stories at 4am, but it was definitely worth it because now I have all my things :D

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:55 am | Permalink

Thanks :) those wigs are all 100% synthetic, though I do own human hair wigs and also human hair extensions :) They don’t make human hair wigs in funky colors, at least I have never come across any, but if you buy a blond wig that is pale enough you can die it yourself since it is human hair :D

Thanks :D

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 9:59 am | Permalink

Thanks :D I ended up not getting that one :( I got the white one instead, I was looking for a paler pink than that and they didn’t have one.

I use brushed for oil paint, I don’t know if they have a specific name, the bristles are very rough though, have you tried washing them first in paint thinner or turpentine and then washing them with soap? That’s what I do and I haven’t ruined any of them or have problems cleaning them.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 10:01 am | Permalink

Indeed :D I thought I would have too much of a great time and not want to come back but surprisingly I was quite excited to get back to Europe :) Hope you are enjoying the States :)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 10:02 am | Permalink

:)) yeah it is really cute, that movie is great!

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 10:04 am | Permalink

Thanks :D I bought the white wig instead :( The pink one was still too bright, I wanted something paler like the other one I have.

Hell’s yeah :D Lilith <3

Hell yeah, I love that stuff! It’s weird how taste in food changes from when you are young to when you grow up. There is sooo much stuff I love now that I would never touch when I was younger.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 10:25 am | Permalink

If there is one thing worse than having to carry around a bunch of luggage with you it is being lost with a bunch of luggage. It is smart that you will only bring the essentials and buy the stuff that is more accessible there. That is what I did when I came here for the first year. Though I thought I was only coming for 3 months so I left a lot of club clothes and shoes behind and brought more normal clothing with me, which is pretty retarded since I could have bought that stuff here, duh. Even still, coming across things like contact solution and the awesomest hair spray in the world (that I can’t have shipped to me because of the pressure in the bottle so I can ONLY get that if I travel to the States) you’d think these things are accessible in beauty shops, even good razors and floss are over the top expensive as hell! so I still had to bring with me these things, but tooth paste, body wash and shampoo are findable ;) I think in Edinburgh you won’t have problems with this stuff though.

I am sure people will have PC’s you can borrow :D or maybe the internet cafe’s are cheap over there.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 10:29 am | Permalink

Haha if only!!

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 10:36 am | Permalink

Exactly i’ll bring with myself the stuff i know i won’t find there. I’ll have to buy contact lenses for 6 months at least too haha, as i have special ones for my eyes and i surely won’t find them there!

Yeah i hope, the thing is that i need a good pc with a good graphic card for the post production as i know yet i’ll do tons of pictures as edinburgh is an awesome city. I have to buy too an external hard disk but i don’t want to spend more than 50 euros (i’m a bit skinny with money atm) and i need it to be not that huge otherwise my luggage will be full only with the laptop, the digital camera and the analog ones and the hd ahah! Plus i have ot bring with me boots, that will be a pain in the ass! >.<

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 11:12 am | Permalink

No, I haven’t tried that, but that’s definitely something to consider! Thanks. :)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 2:34 pm | Permalink

Cool! I’m happy you didn’t get too homesick. In my case I’m very happy here to be missing Europe. But i do miss my friends though…

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 3:09 pm | Permalink

Sweet! I wear prescription lenses and I buy the color lenses which you can’t really find in Romania and if you can they would be so expensive, even the clear ones are expensive, so while I was visiting Florida my awesome mom bought me a years supply! (which to me is more like 5 years since I never change them until I lose or rip one lol) so I am set with lenses *relieved*

yikes, better be careful with that piece of luggage, pretty expensive stuff :-S What about wearing the boots? So that you don’t have to pack them? Or are they big crazy – not practical for traveling – type boots? Good luck with your move! That’s so exciting, when do you leave?

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 3:10 pm | Permalink

No problem :D I think it will make it much easier for you! Glad I can help, feel free to ask any more questions if you have any :) I love talking about art :)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 3:12 pm | Permalink

Me too! :P

Okay, okay, then I must ask… Any favorite/inspirational/freaking fantastic artists you like?

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 3:15 pm | Permalink

I think that’s it ;) happiness is really the key, I am happy here too, and though Romania is not as luxurious as the States with clubs, crazy clothes and fast food I’d still rather be here because I am happy here :) but being away from the friends and family is definitely a bummer :(

Atti and I are possibly planning a trip to London in October/November, do you have any suggestions on clubs, shops or places we should visit?

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 3:42 pm | Permalink

I have a few really awesome artists in mind, though it is hard to say which ones inspire me most because they all do, any kind of artist, even if they aren’t the most exceptional. Any time I see art I get the urge to paint and create something :)

You should check these artists out though:

Hieronymus Bosch : http://www.abcgallery.com/B/bosch/bosch.html

Cmart Designs : http://cmart.design.ru/

Michael Hussar : http://beinart.org/artists/michael-hussar/

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 3:51 pm | Permalink

I’ll have to see too what comes from the visit, i think i don’t see clearly again. It sucks that every year i have to change the graduation, paying a lot for the glasses too :( I want to do the laser surgery but you have to be stable for 5 years and i’m not unfortunatly!

I don’t know yet wich pair i’m going to bring, i think i’ll choose this summer if i want with me the taller ones or the ‘normal’ boots. I’ll yet have to wear a coat in order to save some extra space and it’ll be september so it’ll be so hot (30-25 celsius usually >.< ) but i have to do that so with boots too i'll look like a stupid but whatever, nevermind! ahah

I’m leaving in september, don’t know yet when. The uni courses start on the 28 but i’ll have to pay the room since the 1st of september so i think i’ll go there to sort some stupid stuff like the bank account, mobile phone etc. I can’t wait to leave! I’ll study there for two semester, wich means i’ll be back in italy in june 2010. Though i think i’ll come back for christmas at my parent’s house otherwise i’ll be alone ahah!

You know that if you’re planning a trip to the uk you can come and visit me whenever you want! You’ll have a free bad at my house too :D
Or we can meet in london sometime, i want to go there in april to visit some friend, buy many stuff from camden town and then go and visit Quentin at Kalima (a piercer) to have my tongue scalpelled and some branding or scarification work done :)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 4:10 pm | Permalink

OH, I looooove Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights. It’s almost like a sexual “Where’s Waldo” type of painting. Haha. ;D

I’ll definitely check those other links out. Thank you very much!

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 7:32 pm | Permalink

OOh yeah I wanted to get lasik done on my eyes but it’s so expensive :( I was covered under my parents health insurance until I was 21 because I was a student but my dumb ass didn’t even think to take advantage of that, so now I’d have to pay I think $500 an eye :-| maybe more.

I got new glasses when I was in the States too :D They are Hilary Duff LOL but they are so cute, I will have to get pics in them :D

That’s so cool, you must be so excited! I’m really happy for you, traveling is so much fun! I can’t wait to see all the photos you take :)

Are you staying in a house in the UK? I’d really love to visit Scotland! We are planning to go to London at the beginning of November, you think you can make it out there then?

your body mods sound awesome :) with the tongue scalpel you mean split like the lizard tongue? I’ve always wanted that done, it is soo cute! I want pointed ears too ;)

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 7:40 pm | Permalink

LOL! I love “where’s waldo” .Yeah Hieronymus Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights is awesome, I’d love to attempt and reproduce parts of it. It’s astonishing to me the size of these older paintings!

Your welcome :) I think you will really enjoy the other artists, they are really inspiring and so talented.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 8:06 pm | Permalink

(Hiya, it’s Lovehatesecrets, aka, Jenn. I promise this will be the last LJ you will ever see from me.. Maybe… Hah)

That’d be so awesome if you redid parts of that painting! :3

I always had trouble with Where’s Waldo, but my boyfriend loves it. Lol.

• Posted April 14, 2009 at 8:42 pm | Permalink

I totally agree! Happiness is the key and the place is not of importance but the company! ;-)

Regarding London clubs, to be honest nothing much goes on in there, or at least I was pretty bored of the same old same old… However you should check out Dead & Buried, that is the only place worth going!!!

As for places, London offers a wide array of culture so you should check out the museums, the architecture, the parks… There is a lot to see, that is for sure and shopping is pretty good there as well.

Let me know how it goes!!!

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 3:48 am | Permalink

Re: <33

Haha that is ridiculous! <33 I hate leaving things behind or forgetting things it makes me so angry!

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 7:57 am | Permalink

The luggage is interesting because I want to bring my DvDs and all my photo equipment to Europe, but we always go overweight just travelling with foods and items they don’t have in Europe. I tend to stock up on those items so my empty suitcases are usually filled.
Next time I think I will just take nothing and bring back what I can.
It’s good to know that they don’t allow empty suitcases. I will remember that.

Romania is your home now? Are you going back to the States with your husband or staying in Romania for settling?

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 8:00 am | Permalink

Haha! I think that here it’s not that expensive, something like 200 euros. But unfortunately i’ll have to wait. You know i like my glasses and wearing contact lenses but sometimes is boring.

Hahaah I want to see them!! :D

I’ll stay in the college flats, basically you share the kitchen and the bathroom and you have a room for you. That’ll be a new experience with flat mates, i hope they’ll be good!

Ooh, keep me updated with it! I know there are cheap megabuses (like 1£ from edinburgh to london, and it’s an 10 hours trip lol) and i’ll probably come for a week end or so :) We should go to camden and stay there all the day haha! :D

Nope at the moment i want a 6mm tongue, then i’ll stretch it to have it splitted in the future. I can’t wait!
Pointed ears are hot too!

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 5:21 pm | Permalink

Awesome, sounds good :) I’ve heard of Dead & Buried, what nights are the best nights to go? I hear ya on the club thing, I started getting really bored of The Castle but I was there every weekend, it’s still an awesome club but it’s easy to get burnt out. How are the clubs in LA? I hear the goth clubs are really small and boring but I never want to believe it because I want to go to them sometime.

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 5:22 pm | Permalink

:)) I hear a lot about Camden Town, I better start saving my pennies ;)

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 5:42 pm | Permalink

I hear yah on the food! I wish we had space to bring back food they don’t have here, I wish I space to bring a whole Taco Bell back! Yeah, I am pretty sure they won’t take empty luggage, so just fill it with either stuff you don’t want and just leave it there or a few things so it doesn’t take up a lot of space but it still has stuff in it, that’s what we did when we went :)

Romania is my home now, we aren’t sure yet what we will end up doing but for now Romania is good for both of us :)

• Posted April 15, 2009 at 5:48 pm | Permalink

Ah cool, yeah it will be quite a new experience staying with strangers. I am still not even used to hostels and that’s just over night. Good luck getting stuck with cool people :D

:)) 1£ for a 10 hour trip, that’s soo awesome! It’s like $50 to Budapest and that’s a 13 hour ride, we’d go more often if it was 1£ for sure!

Sounds hot :D getting new body mod’s is the best!! I’m still hoping I can get my Razor Candi across my toes in old English soon :D It’s about time that I get a new tat :)

• Posted April 16, 2009 at 7:23 am | Permalink

hahah I’m fine leaving with people for a while but that will be for so many months and i can’t just change the flat i’m in unfortunately :(

Anyway for london consider going here http://www.piccadillyhotel.net/london-hostels-english/london-hostels-main.html it’s pretty cheap and in the city centre too! In that way you can go and visit everything without using the underground (wich is a LOT expensive there!). If can make it i’ll be your guide, i know london pretty well too! haah

Oh that sounds great! I’m looking forward having two octopi tattoed on my stomach by mark at the swastika freakshop in germany, he’s such a great artist! But i don’t have the money to do that trip atm, i’ll just wait :D

• Posted April 17, 2009 at 9:07 am | Permalink

Awesome, thanks for the link!

Swastika!? what kind of tattoo place is that :)) The Octopi sound sooo cute! I will have to send a picture of it to my sister when its done, he LOVES octopus, she was wanting to get octopus on her feet with the tentacles wrapping up her legs :D

you all are awesome!)

i wonder, how did you change you home & is it difficult to migrate and what are you doing in Romania?)

I am eager to leave some period of time in any other European country but have no idea what I should start with%)

• Posted April 20, 2009 at 10:26 am | Permalink

Thanks :)

I didn’t have a hard time adjusting to the new surroundings, I love to travel and meet new people, though it can be difficult at times because I don’t fully understand the language. The thing that makes it easiest for me is that I have an awesome and supportive husband, I don’t really need anyone else. If you are looking for a permanent move than it can be more difficult because of legal issues. I don’t work in Romania since I don’t know the language, I just model and paint and sell prints and artwork.

The best thing to start with is money incase of emergencies and finding places to stay whether it’s crashing with friends or staying at a hostel, you’d probably want to try and find friends to stay with so they can be your tour guide… if you were to come to a place like Romania you’d have a hard time because not very many people speak English and they are kind of rude.

• Posted April 20, 2009 at 10:34 am | Permalink

ah okay whew, I was all “oh man am I talking to a racist cause that’s not cool” but it’s a relief to know that you know history :D I love having smart friends :D

Wow his stuff is so awesome! I love that it looks sketched? Is it tattooed with a gun or with a mallet and stick?

)
I would like also to move with my husband, probably to Croatia). The problem is the same, we don’t speak Croatian, but I have heard that German is almost the second language in the country, so, hope it won’t be a problem to communicate with people.

We also like to travel and the reason we like to move somewhere is just because we bored living in Russia%). On one hand it would be perfect to live somewhere in central Europe, on the other hand I am a little bit afraid of rude people you’ve mentioned above.

I just believe that the swastika is always associated to wrong thing when it has many positive meaning before a stupid person like hitler used it ahah.

He uses a plain gun but his work is dotted, i think he’s the best artist right now that can do dot-work. :)
My favorite work is this one http://www.bmeink.com/A90119/high/nzg0-just-for-modblog.jpg , i mean..that’s just awesome ;D

Croatia seems awesome, I’ve heard (and seen awesome pics) so many good things about it.

Yeah, I don’t get the rudeness… it still catches me by surprise when people bump into me, almost seeming like they did it on purpose, and don’t even say ‘excuse me’ or ‘sorry’ but instead they give me a dirty look lol. Or the waitress in a restaurant, that you are paying your money to, treats you like you are putting them out of their way haha, but from what my husband says you’d be fine in central Europe ;)

I agree, but you know how association goes… shit, I put on a blond wig and all the sudden I am Christina Agularia, people just feel the constant need to associate things, especially if they are well known things.

Wow it looks so awesome!! He does a fantastic job and it’s very unique stuff. That pic is so bad ass!! I can see why you’d want to get work done by him :)

Yeah, I also saw some pics and will spent there two weeks in May)

hope so)
I thought that I live in a wild country before a visited Czech Republic. Your style is much more extravagant than mine but still, when I was in Czechia and wore just absolutly normal for me black corset and petty-coat, passers-by just stopped, stopped talking and started staring at me. At first it was funny, but after a couple hours I felt myself like a rear exhibit or something like that) not very pleasant)

Yikes :-S I wanted to visit Czech Republic sometime but it sounds like I wouldn’t enjoy it much. I avoid going out here because it becomes annoying for me when people do that. When I go out I wear a hat and cover my face with a scarf but now that summer is coming I will have to consider dying all my hair black or going to a more natural color and taking out all my facial piercings :-| It sucks when you have to change yourself to make other people feel more comfortable, which is why I will probably just say fuck it and let them all stare lol.

Hah yeah, like the classification in gernes of people and such. That shop anyway is awesome and mark (the artist) is too.. he fight for swastika since 10 years ago and in germany is banned that symbol. Fortunately everyone in his city know about it and they’re pro his cause. That’s awesome!

I’ll have the chance to meet him in zurich next year, i hope i’ll have money to get something done from him! He doesn’t charge that much and he’s really fast (he did a friend tattoo= half leg dotted in only 2 hours.) :D

hmm…it came to my mind that I saw punks with pink mohawks there and nobody stared at them %) perhaps the point was in my romantic-goth style, so I think you may try to go there before youe change you hair color))

it’s strange that people still pay attention to such things as percings and somebodies hair color..arrgh

last spring me and my husband visited Wave Gotik Treffen – it was a complete paradise!) I think, you may go out completely naked there and nobody will have a look at you%)so sometimes I think I would like to live Leipzig but its more difficult to move there than to the Central Europe

That’s really cool that he fought to use the symbol :) Goes to show that it stands for a lot more than what most people think.

Awesome, best of luck to you with saving to get something done :) It is definitely worth it!

Weird, maybe the towns people are just used to them, I know the town I live in people know me by now, but it seems like it doesn’t stop them for staring anyway lol and I def. don’t go out around town here with my shaved sides showing and stuff, I only go out completely dressed up if there is a show or something in a bigger city, I get ready in the Hostel, take a cab to the location and then a cab back to the Hostel and get undressed. Even when I do shoots here I get ready at the location which is the biggest pain in the ass since I am used to having the luxury of a huge mirror, running water and such.

Yeah really, you’d think in year 2009 people would just be used to it or have more important things on their minds.

I’m not sure about WGT, I will probably never go there, it’s lost it’s appeal to me considerably within the last couple years, I’d rather check out other festivals around Europe.

Perhaps.
hmm, are you still enjoying living in Romania?)

yes, i think it’s very weird. I can understand that perhaps the person with the mohowk and bright make-up may attract some attention, but piercing and just shaved sides are already something commom for most people, as I thought)

Perhaps, I have found out that in Western Europe ake place lots of fests.
WGT was the first festival I visited, and now I would like also to visit WHITBY GOTHIC WEEKEND (Great Britain) and Carnival in Venice)

rant coming on:

Romania is just as thrilling for me, I love living in Europe, of course there aren’t as many alt. events happening in the area as I had hoped and when they are happening they aren’t really worth all the traveling and money, I don’t get out much so I’m feeling a bit lonely at times. There are so many beautiful places here to go sight seeing though (but then I have to deal with all the staring and rude comments because ‘normal’ people, or that’s what they think they are, usually go to these things), we just got back from visiting the salt mines last weekend, it’s was so awesome, you’d never see something like that in Florida. I still enjoy Romania just not the people so much. Even the alternative scene blows ass, they are very unfriendly and intolerant here. Until they start proving to me that they are civilized and willing to be more humble and accepting of change then I will reconsider my opinion on the Romanian peoples.

I dunno, here in Romania the brighter the colors you put on your hair or make up and the tiniest piercings get people staring, it doesn’t matter, I’ve gone out here with just black hair and no make up or blond hair and blue jeans and people stare just as much as if I go out with my sides showing with bright make up and colored hair, I think it’s mainly the piercings that they stare at.

I have heard about Whitby Gothic, sounds like fun and also the Carnival in Venice, my friend Tanya just went recently and she loved it :)

Yeah, I love Europe very much too!All European countries are very different and very interesting in their own way.
Btw, do you have an opportunity to travel around the Europe?

I would like also to visit USA and I think the most interesting is not just staying in a hotel somewhere in LA or NY but to travel into the center of the country a stop in any little town. But I’m a little bit afraid of it because, you know, I am fond of horror movies and I associate every country with its local monsters and creatures(e.g. vampires in Romania, Golem and alchemists in Czech Republic, etc.) and I’ve seen lots of American films about maniacs%)) So when imagine me and my husband somewhere in southern States I imagine maniacs with saws))))
I know it’s stupid to be afraid of it, but at the ame time it also becomes more interesting for me.)
I think it’s similar to the thought that in Russia you may see a bear walking through the Moscow streets.)

haha)is there any local gothic-rock-clubs?

Btw, is in the USA the same situation with staring at bright-looking people?

Right now I don’t have the budget to travel around Europe, I’d love to visit all the countries in Europe but it’s too expensive and my husband and I are trying really hard to save for our own place.

LOL sounds like you’ve watched a little too much of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and House of 1000 Corpses ;) I’d love to take a road trip across the States, I have never been west, only up along the East Coast to NYC, I’d love to travel through the desert.

local clubs here? in Romania? no way. The closest “club” is like 3 hours away and I don’t particularly like going there, the people are kind of unaccepting to new people to say the least, though I have met a few very nice people most of them are quick to judge without even trying to speak to or get to know the person, I tend to avoid places like this, I know it sounds totally negative for me to keep ranting on and on about the ass blowing of the alt scene here… but I speak from experience. In the States however there are a lot of goth clubs, pretty much every big city has their own goth club. Tampa has a huge club called The Castle, it’s two stories, has 3 bars (not including the new VIP room they opened recently which also has a bar) two dance floors, the main one is really big, lots of space to dance, there is even a stage for when the dance floor gets too crowded and they have 3 huge screens where they play videos and stuff, it’s a pretty awesome club, I miss it a lot.

In the States it really depends on where you go, if you were to go to backwoods Texas towns like in Texas Chainsaw Massacre yeah… people would stare, might even get out their shotguns, but in bigger cities like NYC, LA even Tampa people don’t really stare, they are too involved in more important things than to really care what someone else is doing. We also have the advantage of cars and driving, as long as you are in a car people can’t really see you, I’m sure a lot more people would react if you were walking around the streets looking like a total freak but I’ve been to Malls and restaurants and many public places dressed up and people kind of just mind their own business, of course you get your typical jackass staring or saying rude things but it doesn’t compare to the way people react over here, I feel like I am walking around with a dead baby on my head, people look in disgust and horror, it’s weird.

hope you’ll have your own place soon)
I would really like to have an appartment in Europe but frist of all, you need to find a job there and later you may become a citizen of EU So now it’s just a dream)
Actually, in what town do you live there and does you husband speak Romanian?

perhaps)I have also watches lots of Zombie movie and the plor always take place in US))
in general I think that all States of US should be interesting as different countries. I would also like that Russia is devided into states, because now there are only two civilized cities here: Moscow and Saint-Petersburg, thats all.)

The club you described should be pretty awesome. Unfortunately, we don’t have such huge clubs here. There were some pretty nice alt clubs and bars but now there going to be closed(( frist of all due to crisis, and the other point is that due to Russian mass media some people still think that goths are hell spawns and that they eat emo-kids! could you imagine?..but I should say that currently people here got used to punk and gothic appearance enough so may they just have a look not without staring.
In this regard Berlin and Leipzig were the ideal cities I’ve visited)
Even in the Berlin airport and post I’ ve seen people who worked there and their faces were pierced in lots of places and their wore backcombing(don’t know is it the right English word for this hairdress%))

hmm..we’ll be carefull if we find ourselves in Texas) unfortunatey we don’t drive, ’cause here in Moscow it is senseless to own a car, all roads are crowded with cars and there are traffic congestion everywhere. So, I think we should travel with some friends who can drive)
Yeah, to travel through the desert would be perfect)
I imagine the old RHCP videoclip – Scar Tissue)

as far as I’ve got, there are no alt looking people in Romania at all?

Me too :) We live right now in a town near Brasov called Sfantu Gheorghe, it’s not too bad, a lot of Hungarian’s here, they seem to be more open minded than the Romanian’s down south but who knows, people never cease to surprise me with their ignorance. My husbands native language is Romanian, but he is also Hungarian ethnic so he also speaks fluent Hungarian as well as fluent English and he also took a class on French so he also know French pretty well. He doesn’t speak Spanish or Italian but he also understands the language as well as any Latin based languages.

There are a lot of States in the US that could be separate countries they are so different in appearance and other things. North Carolina and above in the northern states it’s really a lot like Europe, there are even a lot of Ukrainian immigrants and stuff in Pennsylvania that went over before the war, like my great grandparents for example. Florida is completely different, the same as any southern state, they are always rebuilding stuff because the moisture and humidity in the hair rots the wood very fast so you don’t have old barns and wood fences like up north and you have lots of gators and swamps too. Then out west is different too because you have the deserts and stuff that the east coast doesn’t have, it’s pretty interesting.

I heard about Russia trying to ban emo’s and goths, that’s so silly! I will never get the mentality of those who think their race or culture is better than others, who ever gave them the right to point fingers and say they are better, besides, lets say they are right and goths and emo’s are scum, whats it matter, the world is going to shit anyway lol.

Berlin and Leipzig seem really awesome, if it was up to me to go anywhere in Europe it would probably be Germany or the UK ;)

I like that you don’t need a car to get around in Europe but at the same time it is very annoying because it gives people time to stare and say stuff or even become a danger… I’d like to eventually get a car so I don’t have to deal with that or crammed buses full of assholes.

There are alt looking people here, more than I thought for Romania, but that’s pretty much it, they just LOOK alternative, but they are no different than mainstream people, thinking they are the best and shutting other alt. people out of their tiny groups. Like I said though, I have met a few really nice people so I don’t wanna count those people out but so far my experience with events or clubs hasn’t been very good since this is where the ‘cliques’ hang. There is a pretty huge metal scene here, but they don’t like punks or goths, the goth scene isn’t huge but it’s something but they don’t like punks or goths either lol, and I have yet to see any punks.
